Dennis WOODS

WOODS _ Dennis Victor Eli. Born on November 11, 1920 in Gleichen, Alberta and passed away on November 29, 2002 in Vancouver, BC. Youngest son of Eli and Ellen Woods. Served with the R.C.A.F. in WWII as a pilot and instructor then worked for Pacific Press for over 40 years. He enjoyed his retirement and was an avid sportsman and was busy with golf and curling all year round. Made curling "Draws for Bonspeils". He participated everywhere he lived and worked, including square dancing with the See Saws Club. He traveled extensively and saw a lot of the world. Those who knew him acknowledge the fine bridge player that he was. He had an affinity for fixing things. Dennis was predeceased by his brothers; Lawrence, Leo, Clarence, Ernest and Frank. He is survived by his loving wife, Win; sisters Mrs. Rosea Barrett and Mrs. Fran Keir; sister-in-law Fern; brother-in-law John (Agnes) Westlake; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews. Prayers will be offered at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3 at Kearney Funeral Home, 1096 West Broadway, Vancouver. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 4 at St. Augustine's Church, 2028 West 7 Ave., Vancouver. Celebrant Fr. John Fitzgerald O.M.I.
