My mother Patty Williams, worked with Martin for years, after he did his articling and asked her to join in his law firm at Chambers and Co. and even before that. She loved him like a brother, and he loved her like a sister. They had legendary fights, but always worked it out. I met Martin and Sarah and the kids a couple of times, and got a receptionist job there in 1993, after I came home from living in the U.K. I was terrified of Martin at work, as he was an intimidating figure. But, I recognized his brilliant mind, and loved him for his commitment to my mom. He spoke at her funeral in 1994, he knew her so well. I will always be grateful for that. He certainly was one of a kind, a force to be reckoned with, I am so very sorry for your loss. I would love to be at the wake in 2023. [email protected]

Martin was one of the first people I met when I came to Canada. I recognized immediately his brilliant mind and extraordinary memory for detail and enjoyed our working relationship and the occasional fishing trip. He was a good friend and will be missed.

One of a kind with a true talent in hiding a huge heart that one had to get close to him to get a glimpse of it´s size and breadth for family, friends and those less fortunate.
