Martin grew up in Belle Vernon and graduated from Rostraver High School in 1962. After graduating, he joined the Navy, where he served from 1964 to 1968 during the Vietnam War on the USS Forrestal. After coming back from the war he went right into his family's business. Many will remember him from the Dog House and Crampo's restaurant. He then drove trucks for 22 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. Martin was a member of the Roby Baptist Church. He had recently received Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized Dec. 24, 2010. Martin was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He touched more lives than he truly realized. He will be greatly missed by many, but we know we will see him again in the great mansion in the sky. The family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Roby Baptist Church in his honor, in lieu of floral arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.evansfh.com. Visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at Roby Baptist Church from 2 to 4 p.m. Services will be held Monday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. at the Roby Baptist Church with the Rev. Brock Davis officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Fort Leonard Wood State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. Services were under the direction of EVANS FUNERAL HOME.
