My name is Robbie mcDonough my dad is Ed mcDonough who was good friends with Marty I believe at SI and at USF todayMarch 19 th
I I just want to say that my dad always spoke highly of Marty and unfortunately my dad passed away in 88 and Marty attended the services I'm so sorry that I found out late was not able to pay my respects to the family just recently a couple years ago I reached out to Marty and he went out of his way to find me work( I'm a painting contractor) I actually came over and painted at his personal home in the city and I'll just never forget how nice he was to me and how many nice things he said about my dad and I hit it off with Marty very well and I really liked him and I'm very very sad that he passed away. He truly was everything my dad said about him and more. Just a fine man and a gentleman. Marty you'll be missed. It was a pleasure and and honour for the short time that I knew him. Rest in peace Marty
Hopefully you and my dad will run in to each other up there

Arthur and I are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Martin.
Words cannot even begin to express our sorrow.
Arthur will cherish all the memories of time shared with Martin. They had such a wonderful relationship, a trusting and true friendship like two brothers who almost knew what the other was thinking without even speaking.
I will miss him dearly and write these words with a heavy heart. Martin was close to us like family. A bond made even closer when he asked Arthur to be Lulu's godfather for the sacrament of baptism.
Martin was the nicest, kindest, loving, caring, and the most generous man I know. So gentle and compassionate. If any one had a need, he would volunteer.
We have so many fond and lasting memories traveling together in Europe. Oh, how he loved to travel anywhere. He just wanted to go!
Our sincerest condolences to all his family. Love, knows no boundaries and even though Martin may no longer be physically with us, his spirit is always in our hearts.
