Martin Ginsburg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 12 to Jul. 13, 2008.
GINSBURG, Martin It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of a cherished husband, father and grandfather. Martin was born in Ottawa, October 25, 1922, to Isser and Gittle Ginsburg. He was the younger brother to Max, Emma and Mervyn. He met the love of his life, the late Thea Schatz when she was stationed in Ottawa as a WREN. During their 60 years of marriage they enjoyed a full life enhanced by dear friends and family, a love of music, dancing and golf, tennis and skiing. He founded Medico-Dental Pharmacy with the late Lou Goldie and was admired for his ethics and integrity. He was a kind and gentle man with a wonderful sense of humour who loved life and all that it had to offer. He leaves to mourn his devoted children Joan (Paul), Janet (Eric), Andra, Merle, Joel (Yuriko) and grandchildren Jonah, Molly, Emma and Rie. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 13, at 1 p.m. in the chapel at The New Jewish Community Cemetery, Osgoode, 6549 Herberts Corners Road, K4P 1H9. Funeral arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 613-233-1143.

With great sadness I acknowledge the passing of Martin Ginsburg, a true gentleman. Martin was a member of the Rideau View Golf & Country Club in Manotick for over 40 years, he was one of the original founders. Martin served on the Owners Board of Directors until two years ago and I had the pleasure of working with him for many many years at the Club. My deepest condolences to his family
Sincerely

Dear Joanie, Janet, Andra, Merle, and Joel: Please know how much our family appreciates your father (and also your mother!). Your Dad has been a positive influence on me personally from the time I made regular visits to the Pharmacy starting at about the age of 10 to recent years when I have been inspired by his courage and humor dealing with his accident and its aftermath and your mother's care. This has been a tough year or so for all of you and I am thinking of you. I will be at the funeral tomorrow in spirit. Love, Rosalie Kane (born Smolkin).
