My sincere sympathy to Martin's children. He was truly humble and honest man. He will be missed.

Dear Inez and Martin's entire family,
I was saddened to learn of Martin's passing. I lost contact with him since the last time he was in his home, after leaving the care home in North Hills where we visited him. I knew something had changed from his optimistic demeanor earlier this year when I called him to see if he could join us at our monthly bowling luncheon. He declined that month, but said he felt he could make the next one. After that I could not reach him. Like Martin, I too worked for Koppers for many years. We shared great conversations during our many bowling sessions and luncheons. He was a delightful man. There were no boundaries to the interesting things we could talk about. His stories about his early life in Europe, his family's escape and his subsequent life in South America were fascinating.
Martin will be greatly missed, especially from the pool at St. Clair CC, where we used to meet. Please accept belated sympathy from myself and all the guys in the Tues.-Thurs. Bowling group.

Dear Inez and family,
We loved and adored your father. He was an extraordinary man who made major contributions to the world and touched many lives.
We loved his gentleness, wit, brilliance and deep kindness! We are all better people for knowing Dr. Hess.
Lovingly,
Joanne, Lauren, Susan and Arthur III McFeaters
