Martin Ray Hurd, Sr., 76, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at his home. He was born July 25, 1946, to William Harold and Maxine Mason Hurd. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam War as a member of the 335th Assault Helicopter Company. He worked in quality control and as a machine operator at Mueller Brass Industries for over 40 years.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Minister Bill Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Tilden Community Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Myra Hurd; one son, Martin Ray Hurd, Jr. (Karen) of Waverly, TN; three daughters, Rebecca Pettigrew of Plantersville, Lynn Klaesen and Anna Archie (B.J.), both of Fulton; one sister, Betty Adams (Richard) of New Albany; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hillman Hurd and Tillman Hurd; and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Pettigrew, Cole Amason, Matthew Klaesen, Marty Klaesen, Cody Crane, Axel Archie, and Alex Vaughan.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home.
