I learned of Martine through her food blog. I want her family to know I am truly blessed by her selfless act of sharing her soul and sumptuous recipes with us. It is this and her light that encourages me to be the best I can for myself and those I can impact. Thank you Martine, your light shines on!

I leaarned of Martine as my search for autoimmune help continues. When I e-mailed her site her father, Paul, was kind enough to inform me, a perfect stranger seeking help, that she had passed away. He also stated that she, no doubt, would have tried to help me. She must truly have been a most kind and loving woman. I so wish I could have met her. My deepest and most sincere thought to her family and many friends.

I had Martine as a teacher at NAIT. I often think back and remember not only the things she taught me but also her warm, kind spirit. She was a truly special person who I know touched many lives and changed the world for the better just by being in it. Rest in peace, Martine.

I worked with Martine at Dr. Johnston's office when she was a medical transcriptionist. I was extremely saddened to hear about this.I remember Martine as classy and beautiful to the core. All of us ladies loved to see her walk into the office it was like ' gasp- What will Martine be wearing today?" The ladies loved to admire her wardrobe and style. I know we shouldn't put people on pedestals but Martine was the definition of perfect! I truly admire her dedication to going for more post secondary education, it appears as though she found her passion as per conversations of running into her. Know that strangers from afar, I myself, am deeply affected by hearing this news. Thoughts go out to the family.

I am so saddened to hear of Martine's passing. I first met her as a student at NAIT, and following numerous conversations in which Martine would impress upon me the value of aesthetics, rhetoric, and literature, made the decision to change my career trajectory. As I now pursue a doctorate in English literature, I frequently reflect on and am grateful for Martine's encouragement, and for her belief--both in the value of this discipline, and in my ability to find my place within it.

I was so saddened to hear of Martine's passing. I had the privilege to be her supervisor for a brief time during her transcription days. Irony was I learned more from her than she from me. Like many of those wonderful typists - Martine was a shining star - always an exemplary employee; but more importantly kind and caring about everyone around her. We'd often talk about my Crohns's and she always made me feel better. God Bless and keep you Martine - your rewards will come and your suffering eased. May your loved ones have peace and their burden softened until you are all united again.

Before I met Martine, I already had a love for language and it's nuances; however, Martine brought out a whole new passion in me for the "nitty gritty" of grammar and English. I still wish we had gotten her her IC/DC (Independent Clause/Dependent Clause) t-shirt! I will miss her greatly. Many prayers to Martine's family and friends.
