Marvel Elizabeth Hidde

Marvel E. Hidde, 96, of Appleton died Saturday January 22, 2011 at The Renaissance Assisted Living. Marvel was born November 03, 1914 in Shawano, Wisconsin; a daughter of Harry and Nora Shepard Pues. Marvel married John Pawelkiewicz; she later married Lloyd Hidde. Marvel had a special gift to make people comfortable and she touched many people. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed curling, and ceramics, quilting was a passion of hers and she made many quilts for friends and family, and donated many to local charity organizations. She loved all animals. She was awarded the Appleton-Fox Cities Kiwanis Special Person award in 2006. Marvel is survived by two daughters: Susan Edward Klune and Kathryn Arlyn Hansen; five grandchildren: Karen Doug, Mike Dee, Beth Darryl, Stacy Eric, and Kristy Jason; eleven great-grandchildren: Jennifer, Andrew, Tanya, Jessica, Andrew, Addison, Emma, William, Allison, Emily, and Alex; two great-great grandchildren: Isaac and Lucas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, John, second husband, Lloyd, three brothers: Harold, Marvin, and Harley; and two sisters: Hazel and Priscilla. Funeral service for Marvel will be held on Wednesday January 26, 2011 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME at 11:30 am with Rev. Jim Seim from Our Savior's Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Marvel's family would like to give a big heart felt thank you to Dr. Kelli Heindel, and the entire staff at The Renaissance Assisted Living for their care and compassion.
