My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Marvin. God give us a life span of 70 - 80 years if we are especially strong. Psalms 90 :10
May the family and friends celebrate a life well lived and loved by many.

Dear Family:
We are so sorry to hear this about Marvin. Marv and Jo were always good friends to my deceased first wife Janet Bowen Taylor, our children (Frank, Virginia and Kathy) and me. We worked closely with Marv and Jo at Six Pence School for many years. Our prayers and deepest sympathy are with you at this time. God Bless!

I met Marv over 40 years ago. He was the principal at Six Pence where my sister attended and my Mom, Jo, worked. He along with Connie Pence provided me incredible on the job experience. As a volunteer and paid employee I learned a great deal. Later in my adult life my Mom and Marv begun a wonderful journey together and became husband and wife.Whether creating a wildflower garden, traveling, caring for rescue dogs from Columbus Dog Connection or spending glorious time in their pontoon boat, The African Queen , on Hoover in Westerville. Their love was strong and I saw them both at their best in the good times and in times of heartbreak as my Mom passed. Even though I was 21 when Marv became my StepDad, his influence on me began years before that. His guidance continued in my adulthood. I am honored to have been exceptionally close as I was also his caregiver following numerous accident and surgeries over many years. I liken him to a Timex watch. He took a licking but kept on ticking. The last few years he was in Wisconsin seemed strange. I had always been there to care for him and my Mom. I know he was in good hands with daughter Beth and Son in law Ron. He was so happy to have a relationship with them and was a proud Grandfather Great grandfather. A life well lived. He made a difference in the lives of all those he touched.

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Marvin in our Tai Chi class at the senior center in Manitowoc, WI. We found him to be a pleasant and kind man. Though there wasn't a lot of time for conversation during class, we always enjoyed visiting with Marvin. We missed having him by our side after he could no longer attend class due to his health concerns. We never knew of his long and distinguished career as an educator, counselor, and mentor. You are already missed, Marvin! Rest peacefully.

Marv was a great teacher, mentor and friend. I started my career in special education at Six Pence in 1976 with Connie, Jo, and Marv. They were more than supervisors and co workers, they were family.
Our years at 6 Pence were indeed special. Those of us who were privileged to work there will always remember our time fondly. Marv instilled a passion in us for both teaching as well as learning. He will never be forgotten,
Rest in peace, Marv- your reward is well deserved.

I had the privilege of working with Marv at Columbia Gas. He was a very accomplished and dedicated employee. His calm and focused approach to each task he encountered was endearing to him. I was proud to call him my friend. Chuck Kiefer
