Marvin Eugene "Doc" Farley

My thoughts and sympathies to Doc's family, friends and clients. I remember stopping by Doc's place at Shaker Court to grab a .25 soda out of his cooler; one of the highlights of my day after school. Doc was a great vet and a great friend of the family. He'll be missed dearly by all who knew him, and all he looked after.

I was shocked to hear about Doc!

I have flown with Doc. many miles to Dayton, OH to the Airforce Museum and to Oshkosh with him. He loved to fly and I loved to fly with him. He also took good care of our beloved Golden Retriever "MAX".

I regret not being able to attend his visitation and funeral but I am typing this messege from the island of Antigua. I will miss his frequent stops at our hangar at Davenport. My sympathy to Jan and family. God Speed Doc!

My most sincere thoughts and prayers to the family of Doc Farley. I new him during my childhood as a close family friend to the Goedken Family. I spent many hours in the office with the animals and witnessed first hand Doc's skill and caring as a vet. I remember being at his home in bluegrass and hunted on his land at one time. God bless you all.

To Doc's Family: I am thinking of you with sympathy today for your loss. And Blue Grass has lost a very dear native son. Doc always took care of the family pets for my parents, Ted & Bev Brus. He always came as quickly as possible to make house calls or transport their animals back and forth to his hospital, when necessary. He was kind and gentle with the animals and with their owners when the outcome brought sadness. He will be greatly missed.

Doc was a wonderful vet and a kind person. My dog Pebbles was very sick 2 years ago and Doc was so wonderful with her. He pulled her thru her illness and she is going great today. I will never forget his wonderful way with animals. He always went way beyond the call of duty. He will greatly be missed by myself and my dogs. My thoughts and prayers are with Doc's family.

Tiffany, I am so sorry to hear about your father. I was just thinking of you this past week and wondering where you were and how you were doing. What a strange coincidence to see his obituary online today. My thoughts & prayers are with your family.

I was so sad to hear about Doc. When I was a little girl,about 4 years old, my mom worked as a groomer at Doc's office in Bettendorf. I would often go there after school. I am a huge animal lover, and I think spending time with Doc at his clinic, around all the animals, was a large contributer to that. I still fondly remember his blind yellow labrador named Radar. Radar must have impressed me, because I have four labs myself now. My animals are my greatest sense of joy in my life, and I am thankful to have had the opportunity to gain some of Docs ethic towards animals while spending time with him as a child. I haven't seen Doc in years, and he probably had no idea what a large influence he had on me. I am a nurse now, but I often have said if I could go back to school and do it over, I would be a veterinarian.

God bless your family. Doc will be missed by family and clients alike. He had a very good bedside manner with his patients. That is a rare find today.
