Ernie Seay Obituary
Mr. Ernie Terrell Seay, a longtime resident of Wicksburg, died on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at his home. He was 73.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, May 14, 2023, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb with Rev. Tina Henderson officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m., and continue until service time.
Ernie was born May 15, 1949, in Hartford, Al, to the late Thomas Harvey and Nettie Thomley Seay. He graduated from Slocomb High School, with honors, in 1967 and went on to further his education at Auburn University where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Engineering. After graduating from Auburn, he moved to Union Springs and there he met his wife, Susan Meredith.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan Meredith Seay; daughter, Amy Seay Bateman (DeWayne); son, Brian Seay; three grandchildren, Brianna Sherrod, Michael Henderson (Persia) and Emily Seay; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Grace Branch; one great-grandson, Jasper Sage Henderson; brother, Thomas Seay (Sharon); sisters, Janice Moultrie (Roy) and Cathy Seay Chitwood; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Susan, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It is never easy to let a loved one go, but try to take comfort in knowing that Ernie is in a much better place than you and I.
I'm not sure if you will remember me, but my dad was the pastor of the church across the street from the cotton mill. I have 2 living sisters which you may remember, LaWanda and Janice. It would be really great to hear from you. You can connect with me through messenger or Facebook.
