Marvin Hamilton, 80, of Lampasas, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022, in McGregor, TX.
Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Graveside services will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Burnet County on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 3 pm.
Marvin was born on January 26, 1942, in Briggs, TX to Leroy and Nettie Mae (Minton) Hamilton. Marvin's main passion in life was his family and you could always find him doing something with his children and grandchildren and sometimes even getting in trouble with them. He also loved playing dominoes and was always up for a game, he enjoyed horses, going for rides, and knew every backroad and how to get anywhere. Marvin was a kind man that would do anything for anyone, he loved the outdoors, and spent most of his career working at a lumber yard, but he always wanted to work on a ranch.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Amelia "Micki" Hamilton; son, Jimmy Elliott; grandson, Cody Hamilton; siblings, Faye, Sybil, Carl Gene, Bill, Nolan, Leroy, and Nathan.
Survivors include his son, Daniel Hamilton, and wife, Wendy; daughters, Karen Arsenault and husband, Kenny, Shannon Boston Pate, Tamara Freed and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Jayme Barrett and husband, Jason, Travis Patterson and wife, Jennifer, Jeffrey Freed and wife, Sara, Tara Freed, Brandi Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Lily, Kayleigh, Connor Freed, Connor Patterson, Benjamin, Hailey, Hannah, Cara, Jordyn, and Jayla.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease at Make a Donation | Parkinson's Disease (michaeljfox.org)

I just discovered Marvin's passing. I worked with Marvin for at BMC West years ago, and never met a harder worker with a more dedicated work ethic. He was a great person, and a pleasure to spend time with. He'll be missed by all who knew him, and he passed too soon. RIP Marvin.
