My beloved Papaw Marvin; I could never write enough to express my love and appreciation for everything he taught me, not just through his words but also through his actions. He was a teacher, coach, grandfather and a friend. He was always there to dry my tears, shine a light on the bright side and had a way to make you laugh regardless of the situation. We are all so blessed to have been touched by such a wonderful man. I can only hope I will be a light and testimony like he was, not only to my own family but to everyone I meet. I love you Papaw! But most of all, Thank you Jesus for blessing us all.

Marvin was our Sunday school teacher for years, a deacon, and an all around worker in the church. I remember him coaching the ladies' ball team, and how funny he could be. He was one of a kind, and he will be missed.

What an incredible uncle!!! Always there for me (and our family)! Wonderful thoughts and memories of Uncle Marvin ... all those camping trips, trips to Disney, Lake Lanier, family gatherings where he was the inspiration of the night hosting Jeopardy, Family Feud. Always saving me when I overslept for school and missed the bus and he would take me, coming to get me when my car broke down, the list goes on. You could always count on Marvin for anything - so many things he would do for us and others. He had that special gift of always welcoming and helping others - a servant's heart and a heart of gold. The memories of East First Street and how much you loved your church and did for the church and the people there. Will miss you and your blue eyes and handsome smile but you are forever in my heart. You and Bettie mean so very much to me and our family as does the entire Lee Family. See ya in Heaven, Marvin! Love, Kelly, William, Evan and Alex

WHEN MY FATHER DIED, MARVIN AND VERNON LYDA CAME TO THE HOUSE AND DID NOT ASK ANY QUESTIONS OR MAKE CONVERSATION THEY BOTH PUT ON APRONS AND HELPED SERVE THE GUESTS THERE FOOD AND ANYTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO TO HELP PLUS CLEAN UP WHEN THEY WERE DONE. THEY WERE TRUE CHRISTIAN FRIENDS OF MY FATHER JOSEPH EDWARD THOMAS. WE LOVED THEM BOTH DEARLY. THE FAMILY HAS OUR DEEPEST REGRETS FOR THERE LOSS BUT THERE LOSS IS SURELY HEAVEN'S GAIN.

The best brother in law ever. He was our rock. He always had a smile, was a helper, cheer leader or whatever you needed he would do or get it done. We loved you Marvin and are so thankful you were in our lives. Thad and Brenda.
