BUCKLEY — Marvin K. Schneider, 76, of Buckley, died Aug. 8, 2008.

Marvin was born March 8, 1932, in Grand Rapids, to Joseph J. and Josephine Schneider. Marvin spent many years in business with his wife at Cakes by Bev and Country Catering. He loved trains, and looked forward to playing Santa every year.

He was the beloved husband of Beverly; loving father of Bonnie (Kevin) Smalley, Irene Draper, Michelle (Doug) Thompson, April Parsons, Rex (Debbie) Draper and Steven Montez; proud grandfather of 23 and great-grandfather of 13; dear brother of Margaret O'Donnell, Verna (Angelo) Bomarito, Larry Schneider, Brenda Hobert, Diane (Raymond) Feriend and Valerie (Leonard) Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters in infancy; and three brothers, Joseph, Bob and Charles.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 12, from noon until the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City, 232 E. State Street.

Memorial contributions would be greatly appreciated by the American Diabetes Association.
