MARVIN LEE SUGAR

SUGAR MARVIN LEE SUGAR Marvin Lee Sugar of Boca Raton, Florida and Georgetown, Washington, DC died peacefully at his home on September 7, 2015. Marvin was born on April 29, 1932 in Washington, DC. Husband of 43 years to the late Sandra Perper Sugar, he leaves behind daughter Evelyn Schneider and her husband Ronald, son David Sugar and his wife Jamy, daughter Carolyn Bohmiller and her husband Paul, daughter Andrea Sugar and her husband Jamie, six grandchildren and a sister Claire Maxwell. He enlisted in the United States Navy in March 1951 and was honorably discharged in March 1957 for his honest and faithful service. Marvin graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a major in Insurance. In 1959, he was awarded the Chartered Life Underwriter professional designation. In 1984 he earned the Chartered Financial Consultant designation. He is a life member of the Million Dollar Life Insurance Round Table. Marvin's distinguished insurance career spanned more than forty years. With his father Samuel, he helped lead Sugar & Sugar, Inc., an independent insurance agency to many years of prosperous growth. Marvin was President of Sugar & Sugar until 1988, after which he continued his Estate and Financial Consulting practice. A graveside service will be held at Adas Israel Cemetery, 1400 Alabama Avenue SE, Anacostia, Washington, DC on Thursday, September 10 at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the Sugar home immediately following interment.
