Mary grew up in the country on an oil lease where she learned her values and work ethic. She had a way about her regarding caring for those that needed a hand and was always a friend with a smiling face. She had a genuine desire to encourage others to do the best they could and to stand up for what was right. Mary loved to laugh...enjoyed good times with a sense of humor and grace. Mary was very creative and loved beautiful flowers and decorating. She was an excellent cook and baker.

From high school she attended college at Southeastern State and the Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts receiving her B.A. degree. In the summer of 1967, immediately after graduation, she left the U.S. for Germany to marry Lynn V. Adams in Aschaffenburg, Germany on August 19th where he was stationed in the Army. Lynn and Mary started first grade together at Wilson. Although they didn't start dating until their senior year. In sixth grade, he told his mother that he was going to marry her.

When Lynn and Mary returned to the states in 1968, she taught Home Economics for 6 years in different locations in Oklahoma. She then went back to school at Oklahoma Baptist University for her Hospital Administration License. Lynn and Mary were in the health care business for eight years, while investing in oil production. They then built Uncle Lynn's Catfish Restaurant in Wichita Falls in 1987 and sold it in 1996. In the 9 years they owned Uncle Lynn's, they served well over one million happy customers. In 2000, they built and opened Cherry Street Village Assisted Living in Nocona, TX. Cherry Street is still operating today and will continue to serve people locally and from all over the United States.

Mary was loving, kind, generous, helpful, and sweet. She was so loved by many friends and family.
