I have loved Mary Alice since I first met her. I had always wanted a sister. By marrying Fred Hensley, I suddenly had 4 sisters! Mary Alice was warm, funny, and a little bit caustic. I was very surprised to learn she was no push-over, but could snap right back when people (especially Ed) would say something sarcastic. She was my kind of woman, then and forever. I will miss her so much. I am glad her daughters are there with Ed, and I know they will take as good care of him as they did their Mother. Love, Aunt Margie

Ed and Mary Alice have been wonderful neighbors. We have appreciated how thoughtful Mary Alice has always been. She would send Ed over with little gifts for our kids, grandkids and at the Holidays. She always fed my husband sandwiches, cookies and milk when he was resting from doing yard work. And her baked goods were always welcomed and loved! We will all miss our talks over the fence, our catch-up sessions about our kids and waving to them at our coming and goings. Our sincerest sympathies to their whole family for their loss of Mary Alice. We are very grateful to have known Mary Alice and been touched by her thoughtfulness and care.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Mary Alice! You were both always so dear to me! I had no idea of your TWA past! I would have loved to hear about your experiences in person as I´ve been a volunteer at the TWA Museum for 12 years now. I am sad we will be out of town on the 18th. I know without a doubt she is with her Lord now. Both of your lives have always been witnesses of your Christian faith. God bless all of you as you go through these coming days with His love and His presence.

I was the beneficiary of some of that amazing banana bread in recent years. It was one of the many ways Aunt Alice took time to show her support and love for us even when she was experiencing her own hardship with her health. I am quick to recall her smile, her little chuckle and her unfailing wit. Stories from her time in Jeddah and the many trips she and Uncle Ed took sparked an early interest of my own for travel. And the humor infused in those stories, of good times and bad, modeled for me a lens with which I try to view my own experiences. For my part, I will carry her memory in gratitude on every story or laugh-worthy adventure. May you also find comfort in the many happy memories you've shared.
