ABBOTTSTOWN Mary Jane (Miller) Anastasio, 85, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Transitions Health Care in Gettysburg. She was the wife of the late Carmen P. Anastasio. Mrs. Anastasio was born in Johnstown, on March 29, 1926, daughter of the late James W. and V. Emily (Peer) Miller. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Abbottstown, and the Windy Hill Senior Center, Spring Grove. Survivors include a sister, Judith A. Sullivan of Abbottstown; two brothers, Boyd G. Miller of Texas and Rodney K. Miller of Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Jane was preceded in death by siblings, Annabelle M. Reynolds, Ethel G. Muller, Geraldine F. Anthony, James W. Miller, Jr., and Dean A. Miller. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6084 W. Canal Road, Abbottstown. Celebrant will be Father Kenneth G. Smith. Visitations are scheduled for Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh), and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to mass at the church. Burial will be private in St. Anthony Cemetery, Johnstown.

We are very sorry to hear about the passing of Mary Jane Miller Anastasio. We never got to meet her but we are positive she was as amazing and kind as her brother Boyd. With our deepest condolences, may her memories bring you joy. The Morgans, Wichita Falls, TX

I was saddened to hear of Mary Jane's passing. She was a Very Sweet person, and we had the privilage to meet her when she was our Mother's roommate in 2009. Our Mother Viola Bechtel died the same day in 2009. We all tried to visit Mary Jane when we could. Our deepest sympathy to her family.

God Bless You Mary Jane,
I never got to meet you, but my son Joey Ambrose worked for you. He thought of you as you were his Grandmother. He would tell me how you would cook for him and sit and talk with him for a while. I think he really liked that. He will truly miss you. He is in Arizona right now and will not be home for 2 years as he is going to school. He is grieving for you I am sure.
