Waltham - Mary Ann Taylor of Waltham died August 11th at age 98, after a long and active life. She was known for her love of learning, her boundless curiosity about other people, and her sense of joy in daily living. She was the widow of the late Howard Taylor, and is survived by two sons, Jonathan (Alice) and Daniel (Joan Smith), six grandchildren, Evan, Julia (Sean Dante), Jeffrey, Alexandra, Bec, and Jade, and one great-grandchild, Morgan. She was predeceased by her infant son, Christopher, and her granddaughter, Jacqueline. She worked at Brandeis University until retiring in 1983 to her beloved summer home in Georgetown, Maine, and spent her last years back in Waltham near family. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on October 19th at 3:00 PM, at the First Parish Church, 50 Church Street, Waltham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an organization that meant a lot to her, and where she learned to quilt for their annual fundraising project, the Georgetown Working League, PO Box 262, Georgetown, Maine 04548.
