Mary Ann Williams

Mary Ann Williams, 81, of York County, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 28, 2022. She was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Marion and Mary Cavalier. A graduate of Hempfield High School, Mary Ann went on to earn an Associates degree in Merchandising and worked for Sears and Roebuck in Camp Hill, PA.

Mary Ann was the widow of Kenneth "Ken" Williams. They were married for 44 years until his passing in 2009.

A beloved mother, Mary Ann is survived by her two daughters, Michele Williams and Ren?e Strickler (son-in-law Chad Strickler) and a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren: Alexandra Stambaugh, Madeline Stambaugh, Katherine Stambaugh, William Strickler, and Andrew Strickler.

Mary Ann loved growing up on her grandfather's dairy farm (Miller's Dairy) in Westmorland County, PA surrounded by many cousins, aunts and uncles. She was very active in farming and 4-H prior to moving to York, PA with her husband, Ken. Even though Mary Ann moved away from the farm, she carried her strong work ethic and love for animals throughout her life.

Mary Ann was a longtime resident in Springettsbury Township and raised her daughters while owning Jo-Ad clothing store with her husband. She also enjoyed a career in commercial interior design and had a 25 year career with Bath & Bodyworks, starting as a District Manager and continuing to work with the company until her retirement in 2021.

Mary Ann was a breast cancer survivor and volunteer with the PINK organization, was a long time member of York's Out Door Country Club and later became actively involved at St Joesph Catholic Church in York, PA.

Mary Ann's greatest joy was bringing family and friends together for gatherings around a home cooked meal. A talented baker, she always had cookies and brownies ready for visits from her family and never missed hosting a holiday celebration. A woman of many talents, Mary Ann also enjoyed gardening, floral arranging, decorating, and spending time with friends.

A visitation for Mary Ann will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St Joseph Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. A private burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be held November 10, 2022.
