Happy birthday mom! Saifon and I will go out to your favorite restaurant, The Fondue Stube, today on your birthday to celebrate your memory. Your foresight into making duplicate copies of family historical photos and your concern for the safekeeping of those photos just prior to your death had motivated me to complete a family history project. I scanned 15,000 family photos, traveled to three different states to visit relatives and extended relatives, completed work of ancestry.com, tracked down 8 mm footage of you at the age of three, and completed four professional quality family history DVD productions. Be assured in spirit that those family pictures were kept safe, well organized, and put to good use. Thanks to your journal entry, I was able to track down that very old 8 mm footage of you after a relentless twelve month long search. You are missed tremendously.
Love,
Your son Scott

Still thinking of you everyday, especially on this day, your birthday. We miss you so much, but so many great memories live on. Amelia looks more like you every day; Ella writes notes about you for school essays; and Stephen remarks "this is just like Grandma Mary's..." when he sees certain things. He even wondered last week if you might "fall from heaven" one of these days. I told him you are always watching out for us.

Robbie and Scott - Your mother and I were young mothers and friends in Chicago for a number of years. I am so sorry to hear of her death; we shared so many days, years and memories with one another - you boys were always the loves of her life.
