When Mary Ann was a young mother, living in South Norfolk, now Chesapeake, Va., she and my mother, Shirley Hill, were best friends. Mary Ann's son, Marc, was my best friend. As kids we were together constantly, playing in the vacant fields and woodlands around our homes. Mary Ann was like my second mother, always caring, loving, and supportive. I am 70 years old now, but this fine woman has remained in my memory as one of the finest people I've ever known. I look forward to meeting up with her in heaven when my time comes.
