Mary Poe Callan

Callan Mrs. Mary Poe Callan, 87, died Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Camet and Elizabeth Watson Poe; two sisters, Helen Wendowski and Georgia Etta Armstrong; and one brother, Harry Clifton Poe. Survivors include her husband, K.W. "Bill" Callan of Marion; two daughters, Mary Charlotte Vinson of Cartersville, Ga., and Elizabeth Pemberton Sells and husband, Wiley, of Knoxville, Tenn.; one son, Charles William Callan and wife, Connie, of Richmond; five grandchildren, William Todd Callan, Mia Christina Gilstrap and husband, Greg, Amy Elizabeth Vinson Morgan and husband, Kyle, Wiley Hayward Sells Jr., and Lauren Elizabeth Sells; and three great-grandchildren, Isabella Gilstrap, Elizabeth Morgan and Macland Morgan. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m. at Royal Oak Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Alan Gray and the Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Private burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Seaver Brown Chapel.
