Mary Chambers Obituary
Mary was the eldest daughter of 7 to Hugh and Madge Grant. Mary was born on December 6th, 1932 in Philadelphia PA. She spent a few years in Ireland before growing up in Philadelphia. Mary graduated from John W Hallahan Catholic Girls High School. She then went on to Nursing School and was a Registered Nurse for the better part of 10 years.
She married John(Jack) W. Chambers in 1957. They had three Children John Jr., Marybeth and Grant. Married decided to leave Nursing to raise her children. She loved the Beach and spent most of her summers at the Jersey Shore. She spent several weeks a time there with her family, sisters, brothers, and their families. Even when her family moved to Southern California, they still vacationed every year in Sea Isle City, New Jersey.
Mary was known for her "Maryisms". Her unique ability to use a word that sounded close to correct but somehow had some cynical sounding twist on it all her own. She loved gardening and she had many rose bushes adorning her California home. She also enjoyed some "Lite" gambling at the Casinos in Atlantic City, Las Vegas and San Diego. After losing her husband of 45 years in 2003. Over the next 21 years her daughter and her frequently enjoyed their trips together to the Casino in San Diego. They would get to talk together during the drive back and forth, and many times they would get a Suite and stay over for a day or two. It was one of her favorite things to do.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Jack: Son John Jr.: sisters HelenAnn, Sally, Peggy: brother Michael: brothers in law Bob, Bill, Gary. Left to cherish her memory, sister Mona: brother Jimmy: sister in law Patsy: brother in law Dan: daughter Marybeth: son Grant(Lisa) and grandson Keifer.
She has been reunited with her loving husband Jack.

Aunt Mary was the best! I can remember my family´s great trips to Southern California and Uncle Jack and she spared no expense or time to show us a great time. They were always the greatest hosts! I also remember fondly the deck time my Mom and she (and often Aunt Mona too) shared in Sea Isle. The stories and the Irish laughter was the best. She will be so missed but I´m glad she is reunited with Uncle Jack, John, my Mom Sally, and all the Grant clan! Prayers and love to Marybeth, Grant, Lisa and Kiefer.

I will always remember our dinners at Keno´s . We spent many nights talking about her past and all of the people she knew and all of the exciting things they did.
Mary was as sharp as they come.. smart, witty, and so aware . I will miss her .
