CIARLETTA MARY ANNA "ANN"
On Sunday, February 12, 2012, at 11:30 a.m., Mary Anna "Ann," at the age of 84, of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully. Daughter of the late John and Rosaria Ciarletta and stepdaughter of Mary Golasz Ciarletta. She is survived by her sister, Yola Ciarletta of Coraopolis and brother, John Ciarletta (Rosemarie) of Kansas City, MO; sister-in-law, Annetta (late Louis) Ciarletta of Savannah, GA; dear aunt of Kimberly (Clark) Floyd, Kenneth (Tami) Ciarletta, Thomas (Jennifer) Ciarletta, Jon (Dana) Ciarletta, David (Joan) Ciarletta, and Christopher (Carmen) Ciarletta; also survived by two great-nieces and five great-nephews, and by cousins, Jacquelin (Viccaro) Jacoby (Steve) of Cromwell, CT, and Joseph Ciarletta of Carnegie. Mary Anna began her career in law at the age of 18 when she worked part-time for attorney, Ernest Hofaccker, and Justice of the Peace, Sam Hood. After graduating from the Pittsburgh Business Institute, she began to work as a legal secretary for William Neely in his Sewickley and Pittsburgh offices. She was then trained as a title examiner, working in Allegheny, Beaver, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties. After Mr. Neely retired, Mary Anna worked for the law firm of Meyer, Unkovich, and Scott in Pittsburgh as a paralegal. For several years, she helped and trained many new attorneys. In her life, she was spirited, intelligent, and gave of herself to family and friends. Ann loved life and she loved the law for which she worked for 46 years. Even in retirement, she gave her knowledge to many people. She didn't want to be an attorney, but she helped all she could. She loved law. Friends and family received at the ANTHONY J. SANVITO FUNERAL HOME, 1316 Fourth Ave., Coraopolis, on Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Prayers in funeral home on Friday at 8:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church at 9 a.m. Celebrated by Reverend Francis Lachowicz. Interment Resurrection Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Hills Health and Rehab Center in Ann's name, 951 Broadhead Rd., Coraopolis, PA 15108.

To Ann's Family, my deepest condolences on Ann's passing. I met Ann when I started working at Meyer, Unkovic & Scott in 1980 and have remained friends with her since then. She was a lovely person and a very friendly one as well. I so looked forward to receiving notes from her for my birthday which she never forgot and also at Christmas. I will miss receiving those notes from her now. Keep all of your wonderful memories of Ann with you always.
