Mary Pearls' daily effort to show positive and warm feelings (with a fine dash of humor) for the people she came in touch with made the world a much better place. And yes she sure did make a visit to the doctors office much more bearable for me.

We too have many good memories of Mary Pearl...spanning time...from Dr. Moody's office to today. She was always one of Lang's biggest supporters. We will miss her so much. Scarlett and Langden Mason

Mary Pearl was one of the kindest and most beautiful people I ever knew. She was always there with that beautiful smile and sweet voice to comfort me when I got a shot from Dr. Moody. She made my visits to the doctor bearable when I was a little child. Rest in peace dear friend.

The Grand Chapter of Virginia O.E.S. has a motto that states "Lighting the Pathway of Life."
Few did that better than Mary Pearl. She had a vibrancy and charm that spread to everyone and everything she was near. I was blessed to have been around her and Mrs. Turner. During our visits she would teach me a dance step and a song or help me to refine my manners in the presence of ladies. Other visits she would show me her fantastic model cars or share a great dessert. I never missed a chance to walk up on the hill and say hello. She was the best medicine at Dr. Moody's practice and made needles and vaccinations bearable. Scottsville has lost a star but we are the better from the glow she leaves behind. Today the music is con dolore and we send our heartfelt commiseration and prayers to the family.

Music, when soft voices die
Music, when soft voices die,
Vibrates in the memory—
Odours, when sweet violets sicken,
Live within the sense they quicken.
Rose leaves, when the rose is dead,
Are heaped for the beloved's bed;
And so thy thoughts, when thou art gone,
Love itself shall slumber on.
