My deepest condolences to Mary´s family. I first met Mary when she married my uncle, David Cost. She had a wonderful way about her and she will be missed.

I first really got to know Mary at a Jean Pierre Larochette, Yael Lurie (Aubusson tapestry techniques) and Philippe Playe (Beauvais techniques) in Santa Fe, eons ago. Next up was another workshop in Florida through ATA. Although Mary took the other workshop in the duo we had great interactions in our free time. These various workshops are always a bit like going to camp as a kid. Since then we have had fun at tapestry meetings held at different members' homes.
I think one of the moments I saw Mary the happiest was when discussing dyeing. We were at my house and our dye adventures came up and she demured about something and I just said it is like magic. That lit up her eyes because she had been making that magic in her studio for years. Thank you Mary for all of the tips and asides about dyeing.

Twas always a delight to hear her stories and then to see her beautiful weavings. So many talents in such a sweet soul. Linda Eccard
