1924-2012
Mary Cecilia Respess Creighton, age 87 of Cantonment, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Creighton was born November 14, 1924. She was a graduate of Tate High School Class of 1942 and was a member of Cottage Hill United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, her yard and especially her church and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert B. Creighton Sr.; grandson, Todd Creighton Wilson; sister, Ella Mae Black.
She is survived by her two daughters, Rachel E. Allen (Alton) and Bobbie Jean Wilson (Mark); two sons, Robert B. Creighton Jr. and James Leslie Creighton; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, William R. Respess; 3 nephews, Alvis, Richard and Shannon Respess, special sister-in-law, Betty Martin; brother-in-law, Neil Governor; numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ned W. Wilson III, Edsel Allen, Shawnn Creighton, Robert B. Creighton III, Chris Creighton and Tracy V. King. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Locklear, Edward Holland and members of Cottage Hill Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North with Reverend Alan Gantzhorn officiating. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Community Cemetery.
