Mary Cross Obituary
Mary graduated Goshen High School in 1957. Went on to attend Depauw University and to graduate from her beloved Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Shortly after college she married her high school sweetheart in 1962. After moving to Greenfield she raised her children and became very active in her community. Throughout the years she served as President of the Parks board, President of the Library, President of the Literacy board. She strived to make her community better for all.
Home was always lively with friends, neighbors, and kids. One neighbor said you just need to put a revolving door on your home. Her life revolved around her job with Messerlie -Cross Insurance with her husband. Hours of drive time to swim practices and meets. She never missed a sporting event or activity her children were invloved in. In her spare time she would knit scarves, hats, and mittens for the Merchant Marines, read, and play bridge.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday May 12, 2022. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Friends of Hancock Public Library or to your local Literacy Coalition.
A special Thank you to the Nurses and Hospice for her care.
