Mary CUTTING

CUTTING, Mary passed away on March 20, 2023. She was eighty-seven years old and lived a happy, active life. She was a very pretty woman with beautiful blue eyes, an infectious laugh and great sense of humor. Mary was always popular. She was born and raised in Southern Connecticut. She was studying to be a nurse when marriage and motherhood called and at nineteen, she gave birth to a baby boy. At twenty-one, she gave birth to a baby girl. She dedicated herself to making a home for her children and husband, who she called Buck. Summers were filled with camping and trips to the beach, picnics, family barbeques, swimming in the pool. She would take her children to the library, movies, parks, and the bakery. Mary was very athletic, an excellent swimmer. She golfed and played tennis. Winters would find her on ice skates or skis with the family. Mary was the ping pong champion of the family. When the children were old enough to take care of themselves after school, Mary went to work as a dental assistant. When she was forty and the children gone from the house, Mary and Buck migrated to the West Coast of Florida and lived in condos on the water for the next forty years. They enjoyed an active lifestyle playing doubles tennis as a team, swimming in the pool, attending parties and going to restaurants and movies together. When she was in her seventies, she would spend a month in Alaska with her brother and his family. Her beloved Buck passed away in 2015 and Mary moved into a Senior Independent Living facility that was located on a golf course. She enjoyed a very active lifestyle, walking several miles each day. She participated in Tai Chi and exercise classes. She played bridge and went to restaurants and on day trips. She passed away in the care of Hospice after battling an illness for several months. She is survived by her son and daughter, her brother and several nieces and nephews and many friends. She will be missed.
