Sam and I were so saddened to read about Mary Jane. I worked with her for many years at the City of Reno. She was a mother to all of us. So kind, caring and compassionate. Beautiful inside and out! The slide show was a wonderful tribute to Mary Jane. I cried. She loved her family so very much. And they loved her. We were so blessed to have known Mary Jane and George. The end of an era.
Much love and sympathy,
Carmi and Sam Gundersen

I am so sorry to hear about Mrs. DaForno. I haven't seen her in years but every time I pass their house on Cranleigh I think about Mr. And Mrs. DaForno and all the good times and the 1 not so good memory, the Wedding Day fire. Please take care and your all in my prayers.

I just watched the slide presentation for nanny's services. Beautiful. It's Funny I started out in tears and ended in tears- knowing that she (and again papa are no longer on this earth).
The funny thing is every picture between made me smile and at times laugh out loud. The pictures tell the story I want and will remember... Lots of LOVE laughter and fun. Hard to go past a pic of nanny not smiling or making that inquisitive expression that always made me think "what is going through her nugget?"
It's amazing how two people can be responsible for all of us, not just being here on earth but for helping to play a very ACTIVE part of who we are, what we believe and how we take in the world around us.
I am not sad for her or papa, from what I saw in that slide presentation and what I know - they lived life.. And god knows they loved each other more than most will ever know - (through challenges found confirming support/love), something I look to, to inspire me to be be the best for jax.
I am sad because we lost the physical part of her (them)... But she (they) are part of my soul, our souls, or being.
Let's not be sad, let's remember, laugh and take forward the best part of her (them) into the world that so desperately needs love and for us to strive to be our best self.
Nan- thank you! She is always beautiful.

George, Kathy and Linda we are so sad to hear of the passing of Mary Jane. I so enjoyed Mary Jane and George. I have many fond memories of stopping by with my Grand Mother Ruby Swindlehurst at their house or them coming out to Fallon to my parents house, lots of laughter and love. My Mother Ruby always considered Mary Jane a Sister. Sending lots of thought and prayers to you and your families.

To George, Kathy and Linda, we are very sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. I have fabulous memories of going to the Daforno's house and seeing your mom and dad. They always made me feel like I was one of theirs. I will always remember your dad referring to your mother as "his bride". The Daforna family and Cardnuto family go back many years. God bless you all. Our condolences to you and the entire family.

Georgie, Kathy and Linda, I am so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing!! I have some awesome memories of when we were kids. She was always so nice to us neighborhood kids. One memory that sticks out for me is when we would sit down every week to watch Davey Crockett and she would bake chocolate cookies for us while we were watching. She lived a long life and that should lighten the load. Thanks for the memories MJ!!

Nanny, I am so grateful to God that he gave me you as my grandmother. I will miss your sense of humor, and the way that you and I could carry on a conversation. I loved the fact that no matter what I did, you were always there supporting me, and loving me. You always provided me words of encouragement, and told me the truth whenever I needed it most. I love you Nanny. Until we see each other again.
Loving you always,
Your granddaughter Monica
