Mary Lou Dement

Mary Lou (Cavin) Dement, age 86, of Sweetwater passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Henrick Hospice Care in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday May 10, 2021 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Shane White and Rev. John Swift officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. A family and friend's visitation will be Sunday from 5 until 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Mary was born to the late Clarence and Leota Cavin December 14, 1934 at Maud, Texas. Mary moved to Sweetwater in 1950, was an Insurance Agent for American General Life Insurance Company for many years, was co-owner of the Roller-Rama Skating Rink and was a member of Evangelical Methodist Church. She married Bobby G. Dement in 2006. Mary is survived by her daughters; Terry D. Sanders and Ronnie Hendrix of Abilene, Marilyn DelaCruz and husband Jeff of Galt, California, grandchildren; Billy Westbrook and Alisha of Abilene, Anthony (A.J.) Monroe of Sweetwater, Jessica DelaCruz, Joshua DelaCruz, Misty Hadden and Courtney Garbarino all of Galt, California and three great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her husbands; Billy J. Brice, Sr. and Bobby G. Dement, son; Billy J. Brice; Jr., daughter; Nina Harcourt, sister; Eva Anderson and brother; Edmond Cavin. Pallbearers will be Harold Johnson, Tim Bromley, Colton Stanford, Tristan Pimpton, Misty Hadden and Jessica DelaCruz. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mccoyfh.com.
