Mary Dimitriadis

Dimitriadis, Mary Mary Dimitriadis, 94 of Allentown passed away peacefully on April 27, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late George Dimitriadis who passed away in 1984. Mary was born in Lowell, MA, the oldest daughter of the late James and Niove Caffetzakis. They moved to Brooklyn, NY, and that is where she met and married George in 1940. Together they raised their family. George was a fur manufacturer in Manhattan. They moved to the Lehigh Valley in 1955 and started George's Furs in Bethlehem and in 1976 moved to its present location on MacArthur Road in Whitehall. Mary was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Philoptochos Society and the Senior Citizens. Survivors: Mary is survived by her three children: son James, his wife Marie of Bronx, NY, daughter Niove Capetanakis, her husband James of Allentown and son John, his wife Georgia with whom she resided; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters Anna Mello of NY, NY and Eva Pashalis of Long Island, NY. Mary was predeceased by a grandson George Capetanakis, four sisters Bertha, Gloria, Julia and Florence. Services: Funeral Service on Tuesday April 29, 2014 at 12 noon in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral 1607 West Union Blvd. in Bethlehem. There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 10 Am to 12 noon in the Cathedral. Burial to follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown. Funeral arrangements are by the John F. Herron Funeral Home 458 Center At Market Street in Bethlehem. Contributions: Memorials may be presented to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
