Mary Drange

Mary Drange, 91, of Prairie Village, KS passed away at St Luke's Hospice House on August 6, 2023. She was born on October 30, 1931 in Mendon, Missouri.

Mary was kind to all people, from family and close friends to strangers. She had a broad comprehension of the challenges that many people endure and was passionate about justice, politics, and the fair treatment of all individuals.

Mary had a great sense of humor and loved to beat her family at Uno! She had a special place in her heart for all animals, especially her beloved cat Bebe. She demonstrated this love, in part, by feeding the birds, squirrels, bunnies, chipmunks, and possums on her patio. The small, beautiful garden she enjoyed provided habitat for these special friends!

Known for her unconditional love and support for her grandchildren, she celebrated their individuality and accomplishments, and always made an effort to get to know their friends and be involved in their lives.

Overcoming the challenges of having had a difficult childhood, Mary learned how to make close friends. She treasured years of weekly meetings with her beloved coffee club and her exercise friends. Mary was a generous soul who made good friends within her condominium complex and volunteered her time as a board member.

Mary is survived by her daughter Deborah Lamberton and her husband John, as well as granddaughters Grace Lamberton, Ida Lamberton and Ida's husband Dane Wallace. Her husband Bob Drange, preceded her in death. She leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and her cherished yellow cat, Bebe.

A memorial service will be held at Asbury Methodist Church on August 18th at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Rose Brooks Center would be appreciated.

Mary Drange will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and support will forever be cherished.
