FRANCHUK, Mary (nee: Comazzetto) On June 5, 2007, Mary Franchuk (nee Comazzetto) passed away peacefully in Edmonton, after a lengthy battle with cancer, at the age of 52 years surrounded by her loving family and friends. She is pre-deceased by her first husband Derek Black. Mary is survived by her loving daughters Shannon Trefiak (Kurt), Laura Franchuk, her grandson Matthew Trefiak, the light of her life, all of Edmonton; her loving parents Reno and Stella Comazzetto of Kamloops; sister Sharon Elliott (Ross) of Shawnigan Lake; brothers Michael Comazzetto (Sandie) and Wayne Comazzetto (Brenda) of Kamloops; her nieces and nephews John Hunt, Trevor Hunt (Brooke), Becky Comazzetto (Dave), Cesira Comazzetto; and great-nephew Noah Hunt. Mary was born and raised in Kamloops and later moved to Edmonton. She will be remembered with love by all those with whom she came in contact, and will also be remembered for her extraordinary generosity to others, including her many charities (Adopt-A-Teen; Laughing For Cancer and the Youth Emergency Shelter, to name but a few). Through the difficult circumstances Mary never lost her unfailing sense of humor. Mary's family extend their heartfelt thanks to the hospital and staff of Unit 43 at Grey Nun's Hospital in Edmonton for their extreme kindness, compassion, support and special care and attention given to her. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Family Church, 2797 Sunset Drive in Kamloops (Valleyview). Father N. Forde (OMI) will officiate. In lieu of flowers, Mary has requested that all donations be made to "Laughing For Cancer" PO Box 84021, Town Centre RPO, Edmonton, Alberta T6R 3A0 or on-line at www.laughingforcancer.com Schoening Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mary was one of the most generous people I have ever met. Her passion for helping others, and the various charities she donated to will always live on. It was a pleasure to know and work for her for 6 years
