Mary Frazier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 3, 2012.
FRAZIER, Mary Louise Chip - Entered into the arms of her loving God on May 2, 2012 surrounded by her children. Preceded in death by her husband, John W. Frazier, Jr., MD; daughter, Mary Kathryn; parents, George F. and Kathryn O'Sullivan Chip; grandson, Bryan Frazier. Survived by children, John W. Frazier III (Elizabeth), George F. Frazier (Veronica), Patricia E. Harmon (W. Henry), Thomas M. Frazier (Jacqueline) and Ella T. Chadwell (Jim); 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren. Born September 14, 1916 in New Castle, PA, Mary Louise, a registered nurse, met and married her husband in 1941 at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Denver. A member of Christ the King Catholic Church for 65+ years, Mary Louise was active in various organizations, including the Christ the King Women's Council, Legion of Mary, Parish Council, School Board, and Colonna Club (a Catholic women's literary society), the Nashville Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, Ladies of Charity, and Saint Thomas Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. In the fashion of her Irish Mother and Scotch/Lithuanian father, who twice won the Middleweight Boxing Championship of the World, Mary Louise was unwavering in her faith, fiercely committed to family, supremely proud of her Irish heritage, and strong in mind and body. Coupled with her unconditional love of family, kindness and charity were among the hallmarks of her life. In addition to a love of literature, music, art and the social graces, Mary Louise possessed a keen interest in the news of the day, especially on the political scene, a trait she carried to her final hours. Special thanks to longtime caregiver Ernestine "Mary" Hambrick, entire staff of Southerland Place Assisted Living, most especially Nikita "Niki" Patterson. Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church, Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 10 a.m. by Celebrant, Father John Simms Baker. Grandsons as Pallbearers: John W. Frazier IV, George F. Frazier, Jr., Murray J. Frazier, William M. Frazier, Thomas J. Chadwell and John W. Frazier V. Visitation at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, Brentwood, TN on Friday, May 4. 2012 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. with rosary recited at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the King Women's Council. Arrangements by: BRENTWOOD-ROESCH-PATTON FUNERAL HOME, 9010 Church Street East, Brentwood, TN 37027. 615-373-3040. www.brentwood-roesch-pattonfuneralhome.com

Dearest Ella and family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I am so honored I got to see your mom last summer. I remember the comfort you and Madelyn gave me when you came to the funeral home when my mom passed away. I wish I could have been there for you. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Lovingly,

Such wonderful memories of your mom, dad and home on Lealand Lane. Grateful that we grew up together!!! The toaster cover: "Hot Toast makes the Butter Fly"....when Trish did the dishes, she pretended she was on TV....such a wonderful family. Mrs. Frazier was a great friend to my mom!!!! Love, Kay Quinn
