Mary Fross Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 15, 2024.
Mary June Fross (age 88) passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, peacefully with her family by her side in Round Rock, TX. Mary was born in Warren, OH, on August 28, 1936, and raised in a convent in Canton, OH, in her early life. Mary was eventually adopted in her teens by Jerome and Irene Alderman who then moved to Pharr, TX. It was there where Mary met Jim at a car-hop. They were married in 1955.

Mary was a bookkeeper and secretary for several companies and organizations in McAllen throughout her life. Mary loved her church, First United Methodist Church of McAllen. She regularly attended the Friendship Class every Sunday, sang in the church choir, and loved being a youth director for many years. Mary was a devoted member of the Preceptor Beta Lambda Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, awarded "Girl of the Year" a couple times. Mary also served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and supported youth organizations.

Mary is preceded in death by her eldest son, James (Jimmy) O. Fross, II (age 24), and her husband, James (Jim) Olin Fross (age 72). She is survived by her children, Kimberly Fross of Taylor, TX, and Michael Fross and Heidi Roberson of San Antonio, TX. She will be missed by her family and many friends.

There will be a memorial service in McAllen at Roselawn Cemetery (Southwest corner near office) where she will be interred next to her husband, Jim, on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 10am.
