Mary Frye

Mary Frye of Pendleton died on September 12 at the age of 95. She was born and raised in Sullivan, Indiana to John and Annie Burke. She graduated high school in Dugger, IN and attended Indiana State University. She and her husband, Freal moved to Pendleton in 1950 where they raised their five children. She retired from the Dept of Defense Finance Center. She crocheted in her spare time and won many prizes for her items at the State Fair. She was a die-hard Colts fan, holding season tickets for several years. She could quote the stats for all the players with her favorite being Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison and Andrew Luck. She was often seen at the games in a blue wig, high-fiving the other fans at Lucas Oil Stadium.

She is predeceased by her husband Freal, her parents, 3 sisters and her daughter Holly. She leaves behind her children Rita (Dane) Champlin, Karen Frye, Gaylen (Dana) Frye and Theresa Frye, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A Catholic Mass will be said Friday, October 10 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Fortville, IN at 11AM. A celebration of Life will be held at 4PM at her son, Gaylen's home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donation be made in Mary's honor to St. Jude's Hospital for Children or the animal charity of your choice.
