Mary E German

Mary German (née Cline) passed away on January 2nd. She was a creator and artist at heart, and anyone who knew her would be gifted with something she crafted. She had a talent for painting, ceramics, glass work, and jewelry and loved to get her hands dirty.

While her later life was often spent in doctor's offices, her strength showed throughout her twenty-year battle against graft versus host disease, onset from a bone marrow transplant that cured her of myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS, a type of blood cancer similar to leukemia) but left her immune system weakened. She was a consummate survivor and lover of life and relished every moment with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband John of 43 years, her son Nicholas, her daughter Christine and son-in-law Matthew, and one grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that anyone interested please donate to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society (lls.org) in her name.
