Mary H. Goodenough

Mary H. Goodenough 1923 - 2009 WESTFIELD, MA - Mary Helena (Healy) Goodenough, 86, of Westfield, died September 15, 2009 at Westfield Care & Rehab. Center. She was born in Winchester, CT on 4-14-23, daughter of the late Helen (Kearse) and William Healy. She and her husband Samuel Goodenough moved from Pittsfield, MA to Westfield in 1989. She enjoyed cooking, being wife & mother, and was very devoted to her dogs in her later years. She was a 1942 graduate of Gilbert School in Winsted, CT, where she grew up, and Bay Path College in Longmeadow, MA. She leaves two daughters, Cynthia Goodenough Welch and her husband Keith Welch of Harwich, MA, and Joan Goodenough and her husband David K. Atwood of Russell, MA, and a grandson Daniel J. Atwood. She was predeceased by her husband Samuel Eugene Goodenough and a granddaughter S. Christine Lang. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at 12 noon at the Southwick-Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA. A private burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Saturday morning from 10 am to 12 noon prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc., 264 Cottage St. Springfield, MA 01104.
