Mary Grosiak Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 2, 2025.
Ms. Mary Susan Grosiak, aged 67, passed away on Tuesday April 29, 2025. Born and raised, in Middle Village, NY, on March 27, 1958, Mary was the daughter of the late Anthony and Emily (Cottrell) Grosiak. She was a graduate of New Fairfield High School, 1976 and attended Western Connecticut State University.

Mary began her professional career at Grolier Publishing Company working her way to Vice President of Expediting. She spent numerous years in both business and sales working for many companies to include Macy's, Robert's Jewelers, as well as the non-profit Fairfield County Community Foundation. Mary was a hardworking woman that normally held more than one job at a time to provide for her family.

Her work ethic translated to her parenting as well. She was a single mother always caring for, supporting, and protecting her three children. Mary taught her children to persevere, work-hard, and to do good in this world. Her greatest source of pride was her children. She always encouraged them to apply themselves in school, in life, and in their personal relationships. Mary was so proud of her daughter and her service to the country, her son and his contributions in business, and of her baby boy as the head chef of Islands End Golf Club.

In her leisure time, Mary was a voracious reader of murder mysteries, history, as well as historical fiction. Among her favorite authors were James Patterson and Tana French. She was a lifelong Yankees fan (instilling that love in her children as well) and later in life became a Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Mary is survived by her daughter and two sons, daughter, Danielle Alpi and fiancé Stephanie; sons, Alexander, his partner and their child; as well as, Eric-Thomas Alpi and girlfriend Daniela. Mary also leaves her older brother Richard A. Grosiak, and sisters Barbara Grosiak and Christine (Grosiak) Moser. Mary held close to her heart the memory of her late sisters Patricia (Grosiak) Roehrig and Margaret Grosiak (both left us in 2016). She also leaves her numerous nieces and nephews; niece Jennifer (Grosiak) Connors and her family; nephew Tony Grosiak and his family, twin nieces Vivian and Liliana Grosiak, Joseph Roehrig, niece Tricia Roehrig and son Ryan, niece Emily Moser, niece Samantha Moser, and nephew Patrick Moser.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary's Celebration of Life Mass which will commence on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edwards Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd. New Fairfield, CT 06812. Interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Our deepest sympathies to all the family. I will always be grateful that Mary reached out after Dannie and Stephanie´s engagement so we could get to know each other. It was so evident in our call that she loved her children very much and was so proud of them! May she rest in peace!
