To the Shafer & Harper families: We know Susie is in a much better place than us, but while here she touched many lives and made an imprint on our hearts forever. Our memories begin back when Susie was in high school and ended up in our front yard with mom's car. She was scared to death to call home because Mom was gonna "kill her"! She & I always had a special bond from that day. After she became a teacher and joined the Greater Clark team at Charlestown High School, she always watched out for our son, Kyle. She was his little guardian angel whether it was in the classroom or at the ballgames. We had many heart to heart talks both then and thru her illness. We are sure she is with our heavenly father because she truly had a sweet, sweet spirit. May God bless your family and give you strength and comfort thru the memories you will always have. We will miss Susie, but look forward to our reunion in heaven one day!

To Tom,Marie,Teresa,Sharon,Joann,and Larry
I've loved you all for a very long time and it feels like I've lost a "sister", too. I got to know Susie as a fellow teacher, as my children's teacher, and as a friend. There is already a hole at school that cannot be filled. She will always be remembered in my heart as the little kid who lived next door as well as the courageous woman who kept fighting until God took her in his arms. I love you all.

To Susie's Loving Family,
Susie will be truly missed by everyone. She lived as an inspiration. Her passing, while tragic for those remaining behind, takes her to a place filled with love, joy, and eternal rest.
You are all in our prayers and may God give you strength over the coming days.
