Our beloved Mary Loraine "Sis" Heist (nee Kremer), 83, daughter of Urban and Loraine (Lange) Kremer, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Sis was the loving wife of over 60 years to her devoted husband, Robert Warren Heist. She was the cherished mother of five rascally, kind, and devoted children: Mike Heist (Teri), Amy Hoerlein (Robert), Rob Heist, Tom Heist (Elizabeth), and Emily Leidolf (Justin). She was the devoted Grandmother to a growing pile of lovable and equally devoted Grandchildren: Jenna Parker (Greg), Jon Hoerlein (Alisa), Henry Heist, Hayden Heist, Eva Leidolf, Caroline Leidolf, and Great-Grandchildren: James Parker, with another sweet Hoerlein great grandbaby on the way.Sis was also the much beloved sister to Marcia Smith, Don Kremer, Diane Kraft, Karen Schmal, and Kevin Kremer. And she was a sister-in-law to many and aunt to dozens more nephews and nieces. Alongside Warren, she co-owned Kremer's Market, Crescent Springs beloved market and deli. She was the Queen of Fudge and the heart of a kitchen team that upheld her exacting standards. She set the bar for hospitality and warmth which is her legacy that Kremer's Market continues for each and every neighbor served. She was a committed friend and neighbor. She was generous with her love, serving as a second mother to a host of neighborhood kids ensuring all were fed, safe, and having a ball. She was steadfast in her friendships, staying close to old pals and distant friends alike, and enjoying the weekly gatherings with her high school girlfriends. She was a master of crossword puzzles and a lover of yellow tulips. Her smile was the biggest. She was endlessly kind yet suffered no fools. Unfailingly polite, she could nevertheless get a needed point across with an admirable wit and a sly turn of phrase. Many experienced the delayed chuckle when it finally dawned on them just exactly what she had truly meant. Besides a good glass of red wine, the Maine coast, and lobster, her greatest joy was her family. She and Warren lived a life full of adventure and good-natured mischievousness - surviving cross-country road trips, Navy reunions, lively family gatherings, and good-natured escapades in search of good times. And maybe most importantly for her, the care she took in raising her children lives on - the values of love, hard work, and generosity she instilled live on as her greatest legacy. We love her. We miss her. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m., with Father Dan Noll officiating, at St. Agnes Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. A reception will be held immediately after Mass at The Gardens of Park Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice in her memory.

Dear Warren, I am so shocked to hear of Sis's passing. As cousins, when we were little, I shared many fun times on the farm with the Kremers and holidays at the Langes. I'm sorry for your loss and the empty space at your extended families tables. Our blessings to all of you.
Love & prayers to you, Marsha, Don, Diane, Karen, and Kevin too.

I REMEMBER OUR TRIP TO NASHVILLE INDIANA WHERE JIM FELL IN A HOLE. WE LAUGHED OUR HEADS OFF AND THEN WE WENT TO THE BEAN BLOSSOM BRIDGE AND WARREN GOT KISSED RIGHT IN THE MOUTH BY A LLAMA, ANOTHER TIME WE LAUGHED OUR FOOL HEADS OFF . OUR TRIP TOGETHER WILL ALWAYS BE A FUN MEMORY FOR ME. I WILL MISS YOU VERY MUCH NO ONE TO CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY WITH NOW. YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A GOOD FRIEND AND WILL BE MISSED TERRIBLY. SAY HI TO JIM FOR ME NOW THAT YOU ARE UP THERE WITH HIM. I WILL THINK ABOUT YOU COME JULY WHEN WE SHOULD BE CELEBRATING OUR BIRTHDAY JULY 15 AND 30TH, LOVE YOU SIS AND REST IN PEACE.

We were so sorry to hear of this lovely lady´s passing. Mrs. Heist always had a welcoming smile and a kind word for everyone she met. The world is a better place because she once walked among us.

In Mrs. Heist´s honor, may we all offer a special prayer, and perform one extra act of kindness today in her honor.

Our deepest sympathy,
Lou and Donna Dahmann and Family
