GREENSBORO — Mary-Helen Painter Muse, 75, passed away, Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Wesley Long Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at Forbis and Dick, N. Elm Chapel at 11 a.m. on Wednesday November 17, 2010 with Rev. Mark Vickers officiating. A private burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
She was the daughter of the late Luther L. and Newell C. Painter of Asheboro, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Painter.
Mary-Helen grew up in Asheboro, N.C. and graduated from Asheboro High school's class of 1953. She also attended Asheboro Commercial College. After 30 years of service with Southern Life Insurance, she retired from Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company.
Mary-Helen enjoyed antiques and spent many days visiting the various antique shops in and around the triad. She also was proficient in all types of crafts and needlework.
She is survived by her husband, William Irvin Muse of the home; sister Adelaide (Andee) Iddings; sister in law, Joann Painter; niece Jill Painter all of Asheboro and a nephew, Erik Iddings of Mountain City, TN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Lonnie and I were so sorry to hear of Mary Helen's passing. She is finally out of pain and at peace. Our prayers will be with you in the coming days and weeks during your time of mourning.
