SMITHFIELD - Sallie Pulley Hundley, 83, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, after a brief illness. A native of Southampton Co., Va., she had been a lifelong resident of Smithfield.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Sallie was a passionate homemaker and an avid baker of sweets and pastries. She enjoyed her Wednesday 'Rook' card group and will be sorely missed. Sallie was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Percy L. Hundley Sr., she leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Percy L. 'Oogie' Hundley Jr., and his wife, Frannie, of Newport News, and Michael T. Hundley, and his wife, Brenda, of Smithfield; two granddaughters, Meredith Frances Hundley and Leanne Taylor Hundley; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, in Colonial Funeral Home. A service celebrating Sallie's life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, in Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Will Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Trinity United Methodist Church, 201 Cedar St., Smithfield, 23430.

Mike and family,
I am so sorry about the lost of your mother.
It was always a pleasure to see her.Over the years ,at work, I grew fond of her, I saw a kind gentle person, that was always nice to all. My prayers are with you.

Oogie and Mike, I am so sorry to learn of the death of your mother. I remember her as a gracious, kind, welcoming southern lady and it was alway a joy for me to be able to have a visit with her on my trips to Virginia.
