I met Maryjane early my Junior year at MHS, she was a Senior. We dated for most of that year. She was a beautiful person and became my first love...my heart still holds a special spot. Love you MJ.

1970.....Metuchen High. Mary Jane had shiny blond hair past her waist. She was petite, soft spoken, gracious; a great cheerleader and revered by everyone. She was kind to me and my fellow sophomores inducted into varsity cheerleading a yr early, when she was a junior and we were sophomores. She was on top of her game in school, socially and as our leader in cheerleading. I realize these thoughtful days that i have forgotten too many names, too many childhood memories. But the memory of Mary Jane Hecht is clear as a bell. Talented, beautiful, kind. Truly our school and town queen. She meant so much to so many of us. Our very own fairy princess, in magic years of Metuchen. She is unforgettable.

Mary Jane was our idol, as cheerleaders the grade after. She was so nice to us new to the team. She was beautiful, kind and the queen of our high school. It was an honor the be on the same team with her and her friends. I did not know her well, but looked up to her and admired her greatly.

Mary Jane Hecht Johnson at Linda Petsch birthday party 1959 -- along with Junior Conn, Suzy Petsch, Doug Yelencsics, David Scott, Ricky Mayo, among others. First kiss of my life was at that party from Mary Jane!

My deepest condolences to MaryJane's family. We were close friends back in highschool. We shared several years cheerleading together along with many of our Metuchen parties! She was a beautiful lady inside and out! I will always have fond memories of you. God bless you.
