Mum, I will always remember how you would keep me busy while the other girls went off to school. You would play dolls with me and take me into your English-style garden (teddy or dolly along side) while you cared for your roses. I remember the fragrant yellow ones. You would make me a dish of puffed wheats with honey (that I thought was such a treat), and hug me lots. I really remember the hugs. When I got older—you became my shopping buddy for all things exquisite—from fancy fabrics and laces at Chintz to elegant cosmetics in the department stores… we talked about girl things over tea—and laughed—then laughed some more. I will always remember your encouragement for the arts and all that is creative. And you always instilled in us the importance of Christ—for which I am eternally greatfull.

Thanks for being a wonderful mummy—I will miss you, but look forward to seeing you in Heaven~~ love, Carole
