Hyde Park - Mary Jane McCune, 83, a long time area resident, died Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie. Mrs. McCune was a homemaker. A communicant of St. Peter's Church for 60 years, she volunteered her time taking care of the church's chapel for fifteen years. Born on July 31, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Loretta Donohue Nonnon. She was born and raised in the Bronx, and spent three years in Roscoe, NY before moving to Dutchess County. On October 9, 1946 in Livingston Manor, she married Harry McCune. Mr. McCune survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Simpson and husband, Robert, of Hyde Park and Elizabeth McCune of Albany; two grandchildren, Stephanie Swartz and husband, Donald, of Red Hook and Dana Veith of Staatsburg; two great grandchildren, Erin and Nathaniel Swartz, both of Red Hook; a brother, Vincent Nonnon and wife, Gabrielle, of Valley Cottage, NY; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Florence Nonnon. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon, Friday, June 22, 2007 at Our Lady of The Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish, Hudson View Dr., Poughkeepsie. Fr. James Garisto will be officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601-4060.
