Mary Meyer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 20, 2007.
Mary L. Meyer, 79, a resident of Davenport, died on Saturday, February 17, 2007, at her residence in Davenport.
Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 22, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, where a Prayer Service will be offered.
Mary Louise Krotz was born May 7, 1927, in rural Scott County, a daughter of Joseph and Mary (Halpin) Krotz. She was united in marriage to Lester W. Meyer on November 26, 1949, at Sacred Heart Cathedral Davenport. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1998.
She had worked with the Visiting Nurses Association and later worked as an Accountant with Bituminous Ins. Co., where she retired in 1990. Mary was a member of Holy family Church and the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed playing cards, Black Jack, and traveling, but her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Robert Prichard, Davenport; her sons and a daughter-in-law, James and Doris Meyer, Wilmington, Del., and Joseph Meyer, Davenport; four grandchildren, Michael (Kerry) Haut, Coal Valley, Matthew Meyer, Wilmington, Del., and Lynn Haut and Mary Jorgensen, both of Davenport; and five great-grandchildren, Rebecalynn, Josh, Jordan, Brianna and Nathan.
In addition to her husband, she also was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Eileen McMahon, and a brother, Paul Krotz. May they rest in peace.
